Myrrha and Myrica cerifera



Myrrha

Synonyms
Commiphora myrrha, ancient plant

Constituents
Plant contains yellow oleoresin, gum, and terpenes; bitter, perfume; thorny tree

Therapeutics
This is medicine in hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia, pain, and geriatric weakness.

It is medicine externally in gum diseases, toothache, arthritis and sprains. 

It is medicine in productive cough, gastric atony (Capsicum, gentian, kalmegh) and amenorrhea (Aloe.s, gossipium).

 It is remedy in fear, anxiety, menorrhagia, and circulatory asthenia.

Dose 5 to 20 drops.


Myrica cerifera


Synonyms
Bayberry tree

Constituents
Plant contains triterpenes, flavonoids, tannins, resin, gums and phenol; root, bark

Therapeutics
This is medicine in fever, diarrhea, cholera, gingivitis, convulsion, epilepsy and paralysis.

Myrica is medicine in low sodium in blood, hyperglycemia and liver cancer. (Podophyllum, lycopodium, and taraxanum).

It is stimulant medicine in atony of biliary system and bowel. 

It is useful locally in pharyngitis and aphthous ulcers.

Dose 1 to 10 drops
